In July 2020, we were contacted once again by Liverpool Media Academy (LMA) to support the launch of their new campus at the Metquarter in Liverpool city centre. Having previously refreshed the signage for their other two Liverpool premises in 2016, we were excited to be considered for this project.
The new location would host a wide range of creative spaces including dance, performing arts, and music studios spread across the first floor of the Metquarter. Following detailed surveys, technical drawings, and cost proposals, we were thrilled to be awarded the project and to join LMA on this exciting transformation.
A Retro-Inspired Concept with a Modern Twist
Working closely with the client and their architect, we developed a signage prototype to match their creative brief. The result was a modern take on retro cinema and stage signage that reflected the brand’s artistic personality while standing out in a premium city centre location.
Signage Supplied
- 13 illuminated fascia signs, custom-built to the building's architectural features
- 8 illuminated projecting signs to enhance visibility from multiple angles
- Directional vinyl graphics for internal wayfinding
- Large-scale orange window tint applied to all studio and office glazing
- Contravision graphics fitted to external windows for brand presence and privacy
Flexible Installation and On-Site Coordination
Installation began in early October 2020 and progressed as each unit within the Metquarter became available. The vinyl graphics and window tint were completed in early November following the installation of new glazing.
To ensure the project stayed on track, we remained flexible throughout. We worked around other contractors and shopfitters on-site to meet the agreed deadlines.
Now fully operational, LMA’s new Metquarter campus offers a dynamic and creative learning environment for returning students. We’re honoured to have played a part in bringing it to life with fantastic-looking signage that truly reflects the spirit of the Academy.
