Benson Signs was approached by Lime Pictures, the multi award-winning television production company, to refresh the signage at their Liverpool base.
Lime Pictures is known for producing some of the UK’s most recognisable television shows, including Brookside, Grange Hill, and Hollyoaks. We had previously worked with the team to create set signage for Hollyoaks, so we were pleased to be invited back for this latest project.
Perforated Aluminium Panel System
For this signage update, the client requested a unique finish. They wanted aluminium panels with a perforated sheet effect, which required both of our router machines to be running at full capacity.
Each perforated sheet measured 1.8 x 3 metres and was fixed on-site over a custom steel angle frame. Both the frame and the panels were powder coated in-house using vibrant, brand-approved colours supplied by the client.
Illuminated Branding Feature
One of the panels featured the Lime Pictures logo, which required a more intricate process. The logo was fret cut from a solid aluminium panel, with 15mm thick routered opal acrylic pushed through the cut-outs. Translucent vinyl was then applied to the acrylic faces.
This element was LED illuminated, producing a clean and striking finish. The signage was tested and lit in our workshop prior to installation, where the full effect could be seen.
On-Site Installation
Our fitting team completed the installation on-site during a designated time slot, scheduled carefully to avoid disruption to Lime Pictures’ active filming schedule.
The signage was installed efficiently and to specification. The client was very pleased with the final result and the refreshed look it brought to their Liverpool base.
